Mandatory private evaluation

Duration: 1-2 hours | Focus: Temperament testing and reinforcement

At N E K9, we prioritize safety and effectiveness. Given our expertise in handling severe aggression cases and behavioural modifications, we initiate our training with a mandatory private evaluation. This session, conducted in the dog’s home environment in Auckland, allows us to assess the dog in familiar surroundings and guide the owner in making necessary adjustments.

The evaluation includes a temperament test to gauge the dog’s behaviour, comfort in group settings, aggression levels, and stress-handling capabilities. We also introduce the owner to basic reinforcement techniques, preparing them for the subsequent basic obedience course.

For dogs with severe aggression, multiple evaluations might be necessary. This ensures the safety of all participants in our group sessions. We also offer specialized private sessions for those who prefer a more personalized approach.

Basic 6-Week Obedience Course

Every Sunday, 10 am | Duration: 1 ½ – 2 hours | Location: Manukau City, Auckland

Group training

Our basic obedience training, held rain or shine, focuses on establishing a strong bond between the handler and the dog. The course covers foundational commands like sit, stay, heel, and recall in a distraction-rich environment. Post-session, handlers receive homework to practice daily routines for about 10 minutes, followed by playtime with their dog.

Advanced 6-week obedience course

Every Sunday, 3:30 pm | Duration: 1 ½ – 2 hours | Locations: Various parks and schools across Auckland

Please take into consideration that travelling around Auckland and completion of the basic 6-week obedience dog training course is required for this course.

Group obstacle training

Building on the basics, our advanced course takes handlers and their dogs on a journey across Auckland’s hand-picked locations, including Onehunga, Mt Roskill, Three Kings, and Massey. The course emphasizes confidence-building, on-leash to off-leash transitions, and advanced control techniques. Note: Weather conditions might affect the schedule, with updates provided via text.
